Knowing Jesus

My thought for this morning was, sometimes in a loving relationship the other person asks something of you and even quotes Bible verses to back up a selfish request.  I now know Jesus well enough to know when to say "I don’t think so" ... that's not what God's telling me! Oh yes, and I feel good about it. Interestingly enough, the other person usually apologizes. Jesus is truly the best friend I have ... He has all the inside information and He shares with His good friends.

Avoiding Strife

The older I get the more intolerance I have for people who harbor ill feelings in their heart but never speak of it to either forgive or be forgiven. They simply smile to your face and talk badly of you behind your back, never resolving any issues. I just don't understand it.

However, what I do understand is found in Prov. 6:16~19, there are 6 things that God hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that run swiftly to evil, a false witness, and the 7th is he who sows discord among his brethren.

Also a word about hiding hate is found in Prov. 10:18 - He who hides hatred is of lying lips, and he who utters slander is a fool.

Let's walk in truth, love, forgiveness and peace.
